FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is warning residents not to fall for a scam that has been circulating in the past few days.

Sheriff Labat criticized what he described as a pattern of significant proposals being announced publicly without coordination with those who operate the jail.

Tensions flared during a Fulton County Commission meeting on Wednesday after a plan to significantly reduce the jail population was introduced, catching some commissioners and the sheriff off guard.
