A giant tidal energy “kite” located in the waters off Vestmannsund, Faroe Islands, has delivered its first power to the grid, in a significant step forward for the budding ocean energy industry.

Some of the largest kites in the world will be on display this weekend. Held across Saturday and Sunday at Redcar, on Teesside, the event is billed as one of the biggest kite festivals in the country.
